Get on the sleds and GO!

Here's where you begin your snowmobile adventure! You and your family or group can REALLY explore the outdoors! Cruising the Northern Rockies, snowmobiles take you and your companions through remote areas of unrivaled scenic beauty and to mountain tops for breathtaking views. Snowmobile areas and trails abound in the Flathead Valley. There are several hundred miles of groomed trails and nearly 2,000 miles of U.S. Forest Service roads that take you into great hill climbing and play areas.

From your vacation home, the most local snowmobile areas and trails are the South Fork of the Flathead River entering into Hungry Horse Reservoir; Hungry Horse Reservoir itself; South Fork Trailhead (Desert Mountain Trail) near Hungry Horse Reservoir and Martin City; Canyon Creek Trailhead, Big Creek Trail, Coal Creek Trail, and Kimmerly Basin near Columbia Falls; and Crane Mountain and Allard Trail Systems near Bigfork.

These particular areas and trails provide expansive and varied terrain, with gorgeous scenery all-around, for snowmobiling that always has another adventure to offer. It will take a long time for you to pass by the same river or mountain twice as you and your companions whisk along your way. These areas and trails feature over 300 miles of groomed trails and many off-trail opportunities, ample running room and sidewalls, many open bowls and clearcuts where you can really open it up in untracked powder, steep vertical climbs to mountain tops, sparkling winter scenery and spectacular views, and some of the best hill climbing, playing, and family touring areas in the Flathead Valley trail system. Many of these areas and trails are family friendly, being suitable for even the youngest riders for whole family touring, while other areas and trails provide diverse terrain for intermediate to advanced riders.

And don't worry about having a snowmobile. If you already own a snowmobile, then you are ready to hit the snow immediately. But snowmobile rentals and guided tours are plentiful...and you are on your way!

All of these snowmobile areas and trails are about 10 to 30 minutes from your vacation home.
